Collegeology Summer Application & Essay Workshops

Every summer, Collegeology provides four-day workshops for our students as one option for completing much of the application and essay work before school starts in the fall. There are two (three-hour) sessions available each week (students choose which session to attend all week). Students are required to attend all days (Monday - Thursday) and allow time for completing homework after sessions at home every day. Each session is limited to 5 students.

By the end of the week, students will complete:
-Final list of schools
-Common Application (not including supplements)
-One personal statement
-Additional writing samples possibly usable for supplemental short answer questions
-Final resume
-Mock interview
-Information necessary to request teacher recommendations (not including school-specific requests)
-Plan for the fall

Commitment needed from each participating student:
-Attend ALL days, Monday-Thursday
-Allow for time to complete homework after session EVERY day
-Laptop computer (alternate arrangements can be made with enough notice)
-Prior research of schools on list
-Signed Collegeology Student Contract
-Calendar (a phone version will do)
-Bring Collegeology binder/packet every day

This workshop is included in the Collegeology College Advising Package fee and only offered to our students on the Collegeology Advising Package.

*The Common Application has just announced it is delaying the release of the Fall 2011 application one month, to August 1st, this year. Students who attend this early July session can still fill out a paper version of the Common Application that can then be transcribed online after August 1st. We will also schedule each student for a follow-up time with Robyn to fill out the online application after August 1st, but before school begins. All other goals can still be met during the July session.
